Welcome
Welcome to What would Warren do.com
This site is my catharsis and education.
On this site you will find financial commentary in all markets and investment vehicles. Our commentary will range from the incredibly mundane to the wildly esoteric; from ”doom and gloom” to “sunshine and puppies”, but our recommendations will only be SRI compliant firms and will first pass the Warren Buffett Test; the criteria of which is outlined in The Oracle page.
Check out the commentary, under the Market Sectors. We will make every effort to provide interesting information on a daily basis for each area. The Buy It and Sell It sections will give our analysis of the securities you should investigate for purchase, and the ones to get rid of or short out.
May 2009 be as interesting as 2008 was, just not as destructive. Now is the time for us to begin the rebuilding process; allowing those of true intrinsic worth who exist to serve the greater good of the world to rise through these ashes and stand proud; letting those who don’t, crumble and fall to make way for better ventures.
What does “May your Dow never Jones” mean?
The term jones, as in to “jones” for something, simply means “you have a wanting of something and would like to have this something…” First referenced in the drug culture, the term has come to mean basically a general lack of a particular thing. The term Dow, which is how the Chinese pronounce the word Tao, like in Tao Buddhism, quite simply means “The Way”. It is our wish that those who share our philosophies and more importantly, our portfolios, never let their Dow Jones; simply translated:
“May your Way never be lacking”
The website is still in its pilot stages, so bear with it and send us comments or suggestions.
